The Aztec religion was also a polytheistic religion. They believed in many different gods of nature that each affected a different part of the earth. They believed in one Supreme Creator named Ometecuhtli, which means Two Lords in the Aztec language. Ometecuhtli was thought to be two people in one because creation cannot take place without both a man and a woman.
Aztec religion also had many Nature Gods. The Lord of the Nature Gods was a god named Tezcatlipoca, who was also the lord of the 4 directions on Earth: North, South, East, and West. Among the Nature Gods, there was a God of Sun, a God of Maize (or Corn), and more! When the Aztecs wanted to please the God of Sun, they would also make human sacrifices. They would do this so the Sun God would be happy and would make their crops grow.

Another interesting part of the Aztec Religion was the belief in 13 different heavens and 9 different hells.
